Smoky Mountain Winterfest is a magical celebration that begins in late fall and extends all the way out to nearly the starting of March! Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville team together with local business like Dollywood, Ripley’s Aquarium and many other businesses to bring you the most festive Christmas and Winter season lighting displays in East Tennessee. Millions of twinkling light are arranged in festive theme displays, offering you lots to enjoy town after town. Viewing Smoky Mountain Winterfest lights with friends and family is a great way to get in the Christmas spirit.
The beginning of Winterfest, naturally, is devoted to Christmas and New Years Eve across all three cities. After that, the focus of Winterfest settles on the quiet dignity of the mountains and it makes for a good time to both reflect on the nature and history of the Smokies and continue to celebrate it with unique events like Wilderness Wildlife Week, Saddle Up!, and the Winter Sports season at Ober Gatlinburg. February is also the height of the romantic atmosphere in the Tennessee Smokies.
