If you’re looking for a list of attractions in Gatlinburg that are a waste of your time, then you’ve come to the right place. From tourist traps to overpriced activities, here are some of the worst offenders. Keep these ideas in mind when planning your next trip to Gatlinburg – you’ll save yourself some hassle and money.
Hollywood Star Cars Museum – Attraction in Gatlinburg I Won’t Do Again
The museum features an “impressive” collection of vehicles that have been used in some of Hollywood’s most iconic films. Feast your eyes on an overrated Gatlinburg attraction to avoid. This place is small and overpriced for what they have there. It took me less than 30 minutes to see all the cars. This is not an attraction I would choose to do a second time. Take it from us that you’re better off spending money on an attraction that is worth your while!
Gatlinburg Space Needle – Attraction in Gatlinburg I Won’t Do Again
I don’t recommend doing the Gatlinburg Space Needle for many reasons – if you’re looking for impeccable views, there are countless scenic drives and outlooks. The Gatlinburg Space Needle is overpriced for tickets and parking. In many cases, the elevator is inoperable, causing the attraction to shut down – which isn’t very reassuring. Tickets are $15.95 for adults, and to be honest, you can get better views and photos for FREE at the Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook or even Clingmans Dome.
7D Dark Ride Adventure – Attraction in Gatlinburg I Won’t Do Again
Honestly, don’t waste your money on this attraction. Gatlinburg offers so many other great quality attractions I don’t understand why someone would opt-in to cheap, mediocre entertainment like this on their vacation. I was underwhelmed by this experience. This is geared toward families and children, but you might as well save your money and put it towards Annakessta or Ober Gatlinburg for the day versus this attraction that is 10 minutes long and really not worth it.
Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum – Attraction in Gatlinburg I Won’t Do Again
This unique museum houses over 20,000 salt and pepper shakers from all over the world. You’ll find everything from classic sets to novelty shakers shaped like animals or famous landmarks. This quirky museum overall is something I won’t do again. The museum is on one level, and each person has to pay $3 just to walk around. Although Gatlinburg is open as usual, you MUST wear a mask to this attraction. If you’re looking to spend 30 minutes on an attraction, I recommend going elsewhere.
